Thanksgiving 2011
Thanksgiving was great this year. All my kids had the day off. Mom, Dad, Darren, Tricia, Chase and Brandson came out to Georgia. Cody and Tiffany also came over.
We went to Chucky Cheese for Branson's birthday. The girls went to Breaking Dawn. The Highlight was going to Callaway Gardens to the Christmas Light show. It is always awesome!
The boys were putting my Christmas lights up and Darren fell through the roof landing in my bedroom closet. It was hilarious! Luckily, he knew just how to fix it and you can't even tell.
We also had our White Elephant party while they were here.
Kaia and Sienna loved Brandson and wouldn't leave his side.
Washington DC Temple
In October I flew to Washington DC and went to the DC Temple with LaRene and Kim. Kim was visiting her parents. We waited until she got there before I flew up. It was an awesome day. I took the first flight. They picked me up and we went right to the Temple. I love going to the Temple. It makes my whole week feel better. After the Temple, we went to "The Cheesecake Factory." Kim had never been there. It was so fun spending the day with them. After our late lunch they took me back to the airport and I flew home. What a great way to spend the day!
Fall In Georgia
I've always loved Fall, although every Fall I get a BAD case of Nostalgia. I always miss my kids when they were little when Fall rolls around. I miss the football games, Dressing them up for Halloween, the Halloween carnivals and trick or treating. I love the colors of fall and the pretty trees but living in Georgia has taken on a new meaning to "Pretty!" It is beyond pretty, it's breathtaking. I take way too many pictures but someday I won't live here and I want to savor the beauty. I sit out on my back balcony sometimes and just can't believe how gorgeous it is. Cool, crispt air, beautiful colored trees and a lake in the background.
I trimmed all the bushes today. It took me a few hours but the front yard sure looks great. As I was throwing all the leaves away I looked around and realized that winter is very close. It has that feel. The pool is covered and all the summer toys are put away. The year sure flew by fast. Christmas is just around the corner and I love Christmas!
Holt Halloween Party
We had a Halloween party that Kaia and Sienna helped with. We dressed up and made fun food. Brains for spaghetti, grapes for eyeballs, spiders out of cookies, witches fingers that were cookies and slivered almonds and bones out of breadsticks. The girls played games and Naomi made up gift bags.
The Deer Hunt and Kaia's 5th Birthday
Everyone made it out to the deer hunt this year. No one got a deer but a good time was had by all. We had our tradition jeep ride with "Grandpa Holt" and no trip would be complete without a ride in the Ranger. The girls called it "Santa's Rangeer."
Pumpkin Carving
For family night we went to Nicoles and carved pumpkins. I picked up 11 pumpkins at the Farmers market. Some were simple and some were fancy. The girls had a ball
Tea Party with Grandma
Mom has always had a girs day with her grandaughters. Now she is following her tradition and having a girls day with her great grandaughters. This is a Tea Party. They made cookies and punch and served the punch from little tea pots.
2011 Sprint Triathlon
The kids did the Triathlon again. Tasha trained to do it with them but she got very sick after the swim and couldn't stop throwing up. Zach and Nicole took quite a bit of time off last years triathlon. They all did a great job!
Naomi's wisdom teeth
I must admit, I am quite a genius when I need to be.
I made an ice-pack wrap out of Brads tube socks so Naomi would'nt have to sit and hold the ice pac on her face.
She's doing well considering she just had 4 teeth dug out!
Picture day
The kids surprised us for fathers day and my birthday by having the kids pictures taken. Obviously Kaia, Sienna and Eja had enough.
Lake Powell 2011
Lake Powell has always been a Family Favorite. It was cold this year...the water and the outside air but it didn't stop the kids from having a great time. It is simply one of the prettiest places ever.
Leaking Basement
Brad and I got to finish off August of 2010 with a bang. We flew to St. George late Saturday night to pump water out of the basement. Tanner had made a quick trip to St. George to drop off some stuff, thank goodness! He called Brad with the news and off we went. We arrived in St. George around midnight and pumped until 1 a.m then got up around 6:30 and spent the day pumping out water, pulling up wet carpet and cleaning up. We hopped on an airplane and returned home Monday morning at 6. We are definatley sleep deprived right now!
Bringing the Motor home back from Alaska
September 9th we arrived in Anchorage at 8 p.m. and drove until 10 p.m.
September 10th we drove 848 miles and 16 hours.
September 11th we drove 830 miles and 14 hours
September 12th we drove 930 miles and 18 1/2 hours
September 13th we drove 8 1/2 hours and ended up in Provo Utah at 12 noon. We left the Motor home with Tanner, hopped on a plane and flew home. Over 3, 200 miles in 3 1/2 days!
Triathlon
It was a perfect day for a triathlon. Clouds stopped the heat from beating them up any worse. They all did a great job. It was Naomi and Zach's first try at a Triathlon and I'd say they did a pretty darn good job. Nicole beat her last time by 3 or 4 minutes. They had fun and they're already planning the next one!
Alaska Family Trip
July 2010 the family went to Alaska. Dusky had to work and it was a long trip for little girls but the rest came and we had a ball. It was pouring rain and cold, cold, cold but we had good sports along for the ride. The fishing was great and we ended up sending over 200 lbs of Red Salmon home.
ALaska
This is the first of several trips Brad and I made to Alaska this year...It has been such an awesome summer
Trip to Alaska
Brad and I had the Opportunity to leave for a few days to go spend in Alaska. Boy was it Beautiful!
Fun with Grandma
Kaia and Sienna love to come play at Grandma's house. Their favorite thing to do at Grandma's house is go swimming and catch frogs out by grandma's pool.
My cute little girls
The greatest thing about living in Georgia is how often I get to see my little babies! We don't let more that a couple of weeks go by without getting together. These little girls are the greatest reward!
Our friends from Diamond Valley Mike & Lisa Hukill and
Dennis & Nanci Wilding came for a visit. We had the greatest time, although it poured rain the whole time they were here.
I mean the whole time...It started the day they came and stopped the day they left. We shopped, ate out, watched movies and went to a Braves game. It was so great to have them here!
I can't believe it's April already.
So far 2011 has NOT been the year I hoped it would be.
It started out New Years Eve with Eja going into Scotish Rite hospital with Pneumonia.
Her oxygen levels were in the 60's and it was scary.
In March Kyden went to the hospital twice. Once dehydrated from not being able to eat or keep anything down.(The Dr. thought it might be spinal meningitis) 47 hours after being released he quit breathing and Zach had to do CPR on him. He had a small bleed in the subdural part of his head. So far it has been determined he has a blood disorder and they are trying to get to the bottom of it so this doesn't happen again. It was been a very stressful and awful situation. We have prayed alot and had alot of prayers answered. We just want them all to be ok.
The good thing that happened this year is our 30th wedding anniversary. We went to the Grand Cayman Islands and just relaxed. It was beautiful and wonderful. Brad did "MAKE" me go scuba diving and at first it freaked me out and I was a bit upset with him. Fianlly he and the instrutor left me alone and I played around and got the hang of it. It actually turned out to be a fun thing. We hated to come home.
In March we had a terrible storm come through. Incredibe rain, 60 MPH winds, baseball size hail and a tornado touched down about a mile from Zach and Nicole's houses
It's APril now and Spring it here. I keep saying "This too shall pass" and it will.
